Peter Morris is an experienced leadership consultant and executive coach. His core competency is to lead individual managers and executives to optimize their personal and leadership effectiveness through individual coaching and team facilitation. Peter possesses a comprehensive and diverse professional background with a demonstrated record of achievement in executive coaching, leadership development, performance management, including “introducing change,” and building high performance teams. In addition, he is a skilled interviewer. Peter has worked with many clients to develop their Core Values, Mission, Vision and strategic plans, create succession and high potential programs and assess the culture of their organizations.
Peter retired from Mobil Oil Corporation in 1996 after a 33-year career. He held management positions in marketing, strategic planning and, for the last 6 years of his career, was the Human Resources Executive for Mobil’s worldwide logistics division, Supply & Trading (S&T). Significant accomplishments during his career range from leading the project that introduced self-service gasoline to Mobil customers in 1972 to the introduction of a 360-degree feedback process for leaders in the S&T Division in the early 90’s, an initiative that later was implemented throughout the Company. In addition to the above, Peter gained broad international business experience during his career with Mobil.
Since the inception of his leadership consulting and coaching practice in 1996 Peter has worked with clients in the private, government and non-profit/association sectors. Clients include, Rolls-Royce, AOL, McDonald Bradley, Travel Industry Association, The National Cooperative Bank, The Administrative Offices of the US Courts, The Drug Enforcement Agency, USAID and the Treasury Department. He is an adjunct faculty member at the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, VA where he facilitates leadership learning, and coaching through 360-degree feedback.
Peter is co-author of “The Leadership Awakening Experience,” a highly successful executive leadership program involving self-awareness and feedback and is currently writing a book on effective influence. He is “Charter Certified” in the use of Myers Briggs, a certified team facilitator (MG Rush Assoc.), and a past presenter at CAPT and Center for Creative Leadership, leadership conferences.
Peter graduated from Yale University and has an MBA from The University of Connecticut.
