She also has extensive experience working with and coaching multicultural managers and managers working in multi-cultural organizations. As a coach, she combines practical managerial experience with an appreciation for the psychological challenges and anxieties managers face in their roles in today’s complex and changing world. Dinah’s background includes over 15 years of experience as a Manager and Internal Consultant for the International Monetary Fund, where she was responsible for developing and delivering career development, management development and training programs. She was identified as a change agent and positioned to introduce innovative programs within this complex multicultural organization.

She was the first manager of the newly formed Management Development operation, where she was responsible for creating the strategy and design, and then implementing an expanded Management Development Program. The Management Development Program included a comprehensive set of development initiatives including customized competencies, an Assessment Center for high potential managers, an extensive management training curriculum, the introduction of a 360 instrument, and a coaching program targeted for emerging leaders, first-line managers as well as senior executives. At the IMF, she also served as an internal coach and managed a team of external coaches. Her internal coaching work included one-on-one career counseling; coaching focused around 360 feedback for the recipient managers; coaching the new manager in his/her transition from individual contributor to manager; and coaching managers facing performance problems. Dinah left the IMF in 2000 to pursue her private practice clinical work and continue coaching at the IMF as an external consultant.

She worked within the Department of Psychiatric Medicine at the University of Virginia as a clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor for six years and now continues on as a member of the adjunct faculty.
